Ralph has more than 20 years of experience in IP. He was employed at several renowned IP firms as an Associate, Senior Associate or Junior Partner. He also passed a 4-month traineeship in the patent division of a China-based, globally operating telecommunication company. Today, he serves a small number of selected firms in long-standing relationships as a freelance counsel.

Ralph drafts new patent applications and prosecutes them before the European Patent Office or the German Patent and Trademark Office, which may include preparing written submissions and conducting oral proceedings. He is also involved in opposition proceedings and appeal proceedings. Further he has experience in drafting clearance opinions (“freedomto-operate”). He has advised a start-up company in protecting their technology in the field of vaccine freeze-drying by establishing a proper cost-efficient patent portfolio.
